In Search of Happiness

- Miryam Yusufov, PhD

Humans are wired to seek feeling "good". No wonder "happiness" is a common goal for people. However, happiness is a transient and unsustainable state, given life's inevitable pains and issues.

As a matter of fact, there's a known saying, "A life lived in pursuit of feeling good does not feel very good".

Try channeling your cognitive effort towards setting goals and engaging in activities rooted in your values. The more we live towards our values, the better we end up feeling -- without making feeling good the primary outcome.
